Teacher is a title that I have recently started to embrace and cherish. Being a teacher isn't the most respected or valued job. Being a dance teacher is even less respected and valued. However, over the years I have grown to realize how important that title is. It is now a part of me that I truly value, embrace, and cultivate.
Recently we at Prosody have started to offer recital planning courses. Developing this course and leading and teaching the class has reminded me how much I love teaching. Sharing my experiences, discussing problems and solutions, and helping fellow studio owners and recital managers has been a postive experience for me and the attendees. It has brought me such joy to teach, discuss, and problem solve. Talking to you all about recital planning and managment is so rewarding! I am teacher, and I love it.
