The new dance season is upon us! I love the anticipation of a new year. New classes, new students, a fresh canvas. I always love to go into a new season with some goals for myself and my students. Here are some I have set in the past and some I plan on working on this year.
Increase artistry in my students. Often my goal is to help student learn the art of dance and not just the technique and skills.
Back to basic technique. I am always trying to improve the fundamentals and basics of my students.
Fun! Dance should always be fun. I try to always remember that.
Promote a more positive learning environment. Things can get real "Dance Moms" real quick if I don't foster a positive supportive environment.
Implement new and diverse teaching styles.
Stay organized and plan ahead. (Good thing I have Prosody to make that way eaiser.)
Build and promote confidence in my students.
I usually have a few specific goals for each student and class. I have big plan for my 5-6 year olds! Have you made your new season goals yet? Let us now what you will be working on with you students!
